My education in Bishop's Stortford College gave me the opportunity to study both Arts and Sciences, influencing my already then growing passion for both the technicalities of digital imagery and their artistic and creative aspects.
Since being a young teenager, I've also always had a strong drive and motivation to learn and work professionally in the film industry, and I've taught myself over several decades many of the specialised skill sets, following which I have been offered the opportunity professionally to be at once editor, colourist, visual effects supervisor, 3d supervisor and post production facility founder and manager.
I founded, found the financing, and ran the post production facilities Imaginaction (1986), Digitalvideo (1987) and Interactive (1992) based in Milan and Cinecittà Digital (2000) in Rome.
I am somewhat passionate about post production and the manipulation of digital imagery in general and I've also had the privilege of working with and for many talented film directors, producers and film professionals with big and small budgets for both theatrical and internet streaming releases.
As transpires from the directors I have worked with, many of them are Italian, and indeed I lived for 35 years in the "Bel Paese" as Italians sometimes call their Country. This has had a profound impact on my perception of the language of film, and I feel somewhat priviledged to have been so intimately involved and warmly embraced by a culture that has influenced world cinema so much.
In 2005 the Italian Magazine Millecanali held its 40th. anniversary. I had known the magazine for many years, and I had often written articles about my experiences and thoughts for the future of the Italian industry.
I happened to be passing by Milan on the day that the magazine had organised a conference and reception, so they asked me to come by and say hello. I'd hardly arrived at the venue when the chief editor Mauro Roffi sat me down on a chair and interviewed me live for a Milan television station.
Here is Roffi's interview (in Italian)
I have participated in several European high tech research projects for digital camera imaging technology, and, recently, II'm researching applying artificial intelligence to digital film restoration.

IDuring 2020 I designed and developed the 8k 12k Mobile Digital Lab with long time professional associate Mike Connor. This innvovative mobile post production lab is designed to work on a film's post production from the first day of shooting and in ultra high resolution.
The concept is based on saving time and money compared to traditional post production while also offering creative interaction and quality control.
